Lowest number of coronavirus cases in Romania for two months

Romanian authorities on Friday reported the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in a single day since March.

The Strategic Communication Group sad there had been 127 cases in the last 24 hours.

It’s the lowest daily count since March 22, when there were 63 new cases, and the sixth consecutive day when cases have fallen to below 200.

Three patients have died from COVID-19 in the last day taking the death count to 1,159.

Romania has now reported 17,712  cases, of which 10,777 patients have recovered.

On Friday, 200 were patients being treated for the virus in intensive care.

There are just under 9,000 people in institutionalized quarantine, with 48,643 people in self-isolation at home.

Romania has carried out 352,647 tests for the virus.

Some 3,067 Romanians abroad gave tested positive for coronavirus. More than half, 1,699 are in Italy.

Some 106 Romanians abroad succumbed to the virus, 35 in Britain and 31 in Italy.
