Bucharest’s Anglican Church to host concert with classical guitarist Maxim Belciug

Bucharest’s Anglican church will host a concert with renowned classical guitarist Maxim Belciug as part of its ‘Arts at the Anglican’ series which aims to promote quality music for a wide audience at the historic church.
The concert called “Music of the Hemispheres,” will take place on May 17 at 7pm at the Church of the Resurrection Bucharest close to the Icoanei park in the heart of the Romanian capital. It is organized by the church in partnership with Asociaţia Culturală Kitarodia.
The Friday evening concert will feature Renaissance and Baroque music with works by Luis de Milan, François Couperin, Robert de Visée, Jean Antonin Losy, Tobias Hume, Gaspar Sanz, and Johann Sebastian Bach.
Music critic Virgil Oprina described Belciug as “a person who, overwhelmed by his love for music and for his chosen instrument, has a single purpose—to convey to the public the feelings he experiences through each piece of music.”
„When listening to him, you feel he speaks to you about things you, too, have once lived through but have forgotten,” he said.
The concert is part of the Arts at the Anglican at the Church of the Resurrection, which held its first service in 1920 and is known for its good accoustics. Proceeds from Arts at the Anglican support mostly local musicians along with the historic building and community.

Tickets cost 80 RON at the door and seats can be reserved at: [email protected]
