Romanian authorities said the number of coronavirus cases stood at over 4,700 on Wednesday, and 209 people have died of the disease since the outbreak began.
The Strategic Communication Group said there were 344 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. There are 162 people in intensive care.

The man first showed symptoms of the virus on March 24, and he tested positive on March 30,. He was isolated at home, under medical supervision, because he refused hospitalization. He died at home on Tuesday.
A total of 699 healthcare workers have tested positive for coronavirus in Romania, the health ministry said.
So far, 528 patients have recovered, authorities said.
Health Minister Nelu Tataru traveled to the western county of Hunedoara on Wednesday where he put the hospital in Deva under military command. The hospital has been struggling to contain an outbreak there.
Some 47,000 tests have been carried out nationwide.
There are 25,556 people in institutionalized quarantine and about 90,000 in isolation at home, measures to prevent the spread of the highly contagious virus.
