To mark one year since the illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by Russia on 24 February 2022, the choir of the Church of the Resurrection, Bucharest will perform a fund-raising concert this Saturday.

Conducted by British Ambassador Andrew Noble, the choir will perform “The Armed Man” by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, a “Mass for Peace“, a very moving piece that diffuses a powerful message of support to Ukraine.

The concert is accompanied by pianist Adina Cocargeanu and musicians of the Romanian armed forces, the embassy said Wednesday.

The concert will also be attended by Ukrainian Ambassador Ihor Prokopchuk/Embassy of Ukraine in Romania/Посольство України в Румунії, who is the Guest of Honour at the event.

One of Romania’s Imams will also participate in this unconventional work.

All donations will be used to support the Church and its work for Ukrainian refugees in Romania
