Coronavirus cases reach 11,339 in Romania, deaths climb to 631

Romanian authorities confirmed 303 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, bringing the total number of infections to 11,339.

The number of COVID-19 deaths rose to 631 on Monday, the Strategic Communication Group said.

More than 3,100 people have recovered from the virus since the outbreak, including 87 in the past day.

There are 227 people being treated in intensive care.

Almost 144,000 tests have been carried out since the pandemic began. Some 7,316 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

Some 12,000 people are in institutionalized quarantine, and 23,000 are in self-isolation at home, authorities said.
