Romanian Water Polo Federation World Cup to be held in Romania in March

The Romanian Water Polo Federation has been designated by the European Swimming League (LEN) to organize the European World Cup tournament, the national forum announced on its Facebook page on Monday evening.

Between March 9-12, at the Swimming Sports Complex in Otopeni, the senior national team of Romania will fight for qualification to the SuperFinal, having as opponents, in Group B, the teams of Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Ukraine and Malta.

At the beginning of the year, LEN assigned the Romanian Water Polo Federation the organization of the qualification tournament for the Under-17 European Junior Championship.

The tournament will take place at the Muresul Olympic Pool in Targu Mures, between March 16-19. The Romanian national team is part of Group C, along with Switzerland, Moldova, Ireland and Ukraine.

The two best teams ranked in the group will qualify for the European Championship that will take place in Manisa, Turkey, August 8-15.
