Romania’s inflation dips below 6% in April to three-year low

Romania’s annual inflation rate slowed to 5.9% in April, the lowest rate since August 2021, when the country was in the grips of the pandemic.
April’s rate was a drop from the 6.6% the months before and the 7.2% in February, according to the statistics institute INS who released date on Tuesday.
The last time Romania had a monthly inflation rate of below 6% was in August 2021  during the pandemic.
Inflation has slowed this year and was 2.4% from Dec. 2023 to April 2024, INS said.
