Three people have been stabbed in a knife attack at Paris’ main train station this morning.

Police rushed to the Gare de Lyon railway station after the suspected attacker went on a stabbing spree at around 8am on Saturday, February 3.

None of those stabbed are thought to be in a life-threatening condition, though one victim was stabbed quite seriously.

Police say they have since arrested the suspected assailant.

The motive of the attack is not  immediately clear, though local media has reported that the suspect suffered from „psychiatric disorders”, but the police are yet to provide any confirmation.

This immediately rendered the station, through which 150 million passengers pass per year, temporarily inaccessible. The Gare de Lyon station connects trains across France but is also used for international travel, servicing routes to Switzerland and Italy, as well as the Eurostar.
