Zelensky invites Trump to Ukraine, despite their conflicts

Volodymyr Zelensky has invited Donald Trump to visit Russia before he signs a deal with Russia. 

“Please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead,” Zelensky said in a CBS interview. 

Just after the interview, a Russian missile killed 34 and injured 117. 

Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg said the attack had crossed “any line of decency” — it additionally doesn’t bode well while peace talks are ongoing. Olaf Scholz criticized it too, saying that Russia clearly has no intentions towards peace. 

Trump has only said that he has been told that it would be a mistake on his behalf. It puts him in a sticky situation, as President Macron suggested by saying that Russia’s choice was an affront to Trump’s 

Russia has not commented, as per usual. 

The last time Zelensky and Trump saw each other in person was on live TV, when they feuded over gratitude and a divergence of optics, egged on by J.D. Vance. Zelensky fled the White House, but said it wasn’t a definitive rupture.
