Once-divinized celebrity couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached the end of their bitter divorce dealings.
Although original reasons eight years ago aimed towards discretion, with Jolie filing for irreconcilable differences, recent court documents show Pitt being verbally and physically abusive both to Jolie and some of their children, of which there are six. Three of the children have legally dropped the name “Pitt”.
Pitt was not charged following a police investigation into the incident that led to the divorce, which took place on a private airplane, and has denied the allegations.
The divorce was also drawn out because of the couple’s significant shared properties, such as their French vineyard and chateau.
In 2022, Pitt accused Angelina Jolie of selling her stake in the lucrative rose wine property to a Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without his knowledge, Pitt claiming that she did so intentionally in order to ruin his investment.
The terms of the divorce agreement are not public.
