21 bands from 18 countries will perform at the 17th edition of the Bucharest International Jazz Competition, scheduled to start on July 8. Until July 14, the event brings quality jazz from the world’s most famous music markets to Romania’s capital.
Artists from South Africa, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, the US, and Ukraine will perform at the event this year.
Thee first edition in 2007 registered 30 bands from 25 countries.
The event has been ranked by the BBC as third of its kind – globally. It will include classic jazz, mainstream, swing, fusion, bepop, cool jazz, bossa nova, modal, free jazz, groove, afro-cuban jazz, acid jazz, smooth jazz and other types.
