Romania confirmed 3,613 cases of people with the new coronavirus on Saturday, and 146 deaths.
There were 430 new cases in the past 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group said.
Some 329 patients have recovered since the outbreak, authorities said.
There are currently 119 people in intensive care in Romanian hospitals.
Most of the people who died from the killer virus were elderly and had underlying health conditions.
Some 15,200 people are in institutionalized quarantine, while 113,500 people are in self-isolation at home.
Authorities have tested about 36,000 people so far for COVID-19.
