Earthquake with magnitude of 5.7 rumbles southern Romania

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 rumbled southern Romania on Tuesday, There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

”On 14.02.2023, at 15:16:57, there was an earthquake measuring 5.7 in Valcea, Oltenia, at a depth of 28,638 km”, the National Earth Physics Institute said.

The epicenter was 70 kilometers north of Craiova, 70 kilometers west of Pitesti, 97 km south of Sibiu and 177 km west of the capital.

The temblor was felt in several counties and in Bucharest.

It came a day after a quake measuring 5.2 struck the southern county of Gorj, followed by four aftershocks. There were no reports of injuries.
