Former President Donald Trump has been shot  in a rally in Pennsylvania, in an incident that law enforcement officials are investigating as an attempted assassination.

After the shooting, the bloodied presumptive Republican candidate raised his fist,  flanked by an American flag, creating a portrait for the current era of political crisis and conflict.

The shooter was shot dead and an attendee was killed and two others were critically injured, the Secret Service said in a statement Saturday night.  Trump’s campaign says he is “fine” after he was whisked off the stage and checked out at a local medical facility.
