Parents of high-school pupils at a school in northwest Romania said they would file a complaint to prosecutors on Friday after an external party hacked into the school’s e-learning module with porn films.

The films known as „porn bombings” have sporadically disrupted remote lessons at the „Romulus Ladea” art school in Cluj since last year,  Adevărul reported.

The publication said that unidentified people had posted films, pornographic images and obscenities.

The disruptions started when schools began remote teaching during the pandemic, but the school hasn’t managed to fix the problem.

In November, parents went to the police and informed them what was happening. Police said the school and Adservio, the educational online platform that schools use for remote learning, were responsible for the issue.

Things appeared to have calmed down, but there was a fresh incident on Wednesday. Parents said they found it unacceptable and would take the issue to the prosecutors’ office for organized crime.

One mother was quoting as saying that her 15-year-old daughter who a pupil in the VIII grade had been privy to the images.

“We are doing everything we can to fix this problem as soon as possible. As a parent, I don’t want this to happen to any child.”

She said pupils aged 13 to 15 were being targeted by the films and obscenities.

“My daughter’s 15 and so I managed to explain the situation in a mature way. The problem is that this can happen to younger children in the future.”

Adevarul reported that there was a page on YouTube where people who had disrupted the lessons were boasting about it.
