How cute! Dacia reveals its cheap little electric, the “Hipster Concept”

Romanian automobile producer Dacia has just tunveiled a new electric car prototype: Hispter Concept.

Hopefully creating market competition for cheap Chinese electrics,  the new Hipster Concept is certainly under EUR 15,000.

Dacia Hipster Concept is part of a broader initiative supported by Renault and Stellantis meant to create a new European category of small cars inspired by the Japanese “Kei Car” concept.

In this economy, new, cheaper cars are necessary for Europeans — even if they should be aware that there ways in which safety regulations have been lowered for these, requiring a new legislative framework specifically for small cars.

The little big bug is 3 meters in length and weighs under 800 kilograms.

Top speed would be around 90 km/h, and its estimated range reaches 150 km.

What are the disadvantages, in exchange for the modest price? Seats are made of fabric, windows are manually operated windows, straps replace door handles. Unlike most cars made these days, electronics are minimal. For now, only one color is available:  bluish-gray. Anyway, we don’t know when they’ll officially be on the market.
