In light of discontent, Romanian farmers receive 30 men euros from EU

Member states of the European Union have approved on June 26 the EUR 100 million support package for farmers in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia – affected by the grain imports from Ukraine, reports Romania Insider.

The five countries became transit routes for Ukrainian grains that could not be exported by sea because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but delays in moving the grains have caused a glut of cheap imports, prompting complaints from farmers and bans on the grains by some countries.

Romania is set to receive EUR 29.73 million.

Hungary is due EUR 15.93 million.

Bulgaria will receive EUR 9.77 million

Poland will receive EUR 39.33 million, and Slovakia – EUR 5.24 million.
