In light of the whirlwind of discontent around the American government’s dragging of its feet on releasing the full Jeffrey Epstein file, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has announced that he will meet Ghislaine Maxwell to ask her about other sexual abusers.
The British socialite is currently serving a 20-year prison term for her role as an accomplice in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking enterprise.
Controversy has been brewing for weeks, given the Trump administration’s backtracking on releasing files.
Trump responded that any such accusations are a Democrat-confabulated hoax.
Maxwell’s lawyer, David Oscar Markus, wrote in a post on X: “I can confirm that we are in discussions with the government and that Ghislaine will always testify truthfully.”
With her true love Epstein dead and the possibility of a sentence reduction, it’s reasonable to assume that Maxwell will cooperate.
She was convicted in 2021.
“I don’t really follow that too much,” Trump said of the Epstein controversy: “It’s sort of a witch hunt, just a continuation of the witch hunt.”
Donald Trump, who was defended by Blanche in his felony cases between presidencies, says he wasn’t made aware of Blanche’s commitment to meeting Maxwell in days to come, but claimed to support the idea.
