After major abdominal surgery and several months of chemotherapy, Catherine of Wales has announced that she has completed her treatment.
She released a dreamy video of the young Royal family enjoying time together in the beautiful natural landscape of Norfolk – in tune with her remark that her cancer journey reminded her of the utmost importance of loving and being loved above all. In the video, Catherine walks through a forest in a vintage dress – presumably a metaphor for travelling through a space of darkness and unknown dangers.
It is a very intimate video, signalling a shift from the stiff-upper-lip style that characterized the English royals for a very, very long time. What’s more, the family are dressed in normal, low-key clothes, and Kate is seen driving a car, and playing cards with her parents and children.
She said she would return to her duties lightly this year, prioritizing remaining cancer-free, as the past to recovery is long even after a trial of chemo ends.
She also said that she remains “side by side, hand in hand” with those afflicted by cancer.
