Romania to invest 66 million euros in burns unit

Romania’s health ministry  has that it will invest 66 million euros on the construction of an integrated burns unit in the southwestern city of Timisoara.

The new facility will be built at the County Emergency county hospital, the health ministry said on May 26.

Funding for the project has been secured through a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project is scheduled to be completed in 26 months.

The unit will have six beds for the most severe cases, six for intermediary cases and five for microsurgery and reconstructive surgery. The Intensive Care Unit will be equipped with 27 beds and 25 operating rooms.
