The work market has accelerated in July, the job applications have surpassed the record of the last year and a half, and the number of jobs has increased by 28% against the summer of last year, shows the recruitment platform BestJobs. In July, the applicants applied mostly for positions in Sales, Financial/Accountancy, IT/Telecom and Production/Logistics.

„The second summer month of 2022 has brought a volume of jobs with 28% higher than in the same period of last year on the BestJobs recruitment platform, keeping the same competitive level with the month of June of the same year. Even if it is a peak period of the summer season, the applicants recorded with 13% more applications than in July 2021 and with 10% more than in the previous month. Moreover, the young people at the beginning of their career were more dynamic looking for a job on the work market, with a new record of activity since the beginning of the year until now”, the platform states.

Thus, the applicants aged 18 to 25 recorded 17% of the total of applications in July.

„Stagnation in the number of jobs is specific for the months of summer, due to holidays when the recruitment drops. Even so, the applicants have started intensively the second half of 2022. For example, if in December 2021 an applicant with intention to get hired applied, on average for 3 to 5 jobs, now the data show an average of 7 opportunities chosen. We see on the platform the fact that, irrespective of age, the applicants are interested in professional opportunities better from the point of view of salary or extra salary bonuses. Moreover, even those who do not look for immediate change of the job, apply to evaluate their options”, Ana Visian, marketing manager BestJobs, says.

In July, candidates applied most for positions in sales, where applications increased by almost 4% compared to last month, Management, Financial/accounting, it/Telecom and production/Logistics. There has also been a notable increase of almost 20% in applications in HoReCa, amid the intensification of seasonal activities in this area.

The top of the companies with most applications was led in July by Lidl, LPP FASHION, Enel and eMAG. Moreover, very many applicants got interested in the more developed counties from an economic point of view in the country, such as Ilfov and Bucuresti (over 221.170 applications, Timiș (59.600 applications), Brașov (44.330 de applications), Cluj (44.270 applications) and  Constanța (over 35.700 applications), show the  BestJobs data.

The applicants chose positions such as Sales consultant for a fashion brand with 1.700 applications, agent Customer Care (which allows remote activity) for a company that dominates the online commerce market in Romania, with over 1,300 applications and Online Guidance Support, with about 1,260 applications.

The statistics on the platform show that the volume of jobs from the companies abroad has increased by 17% as compared to the month of June, the most opportunities coming from Germany. Nationally, Sales, Management, IT and Financial are the domains which lead the job offer.

The July data reflect a new trend regarding the searches of the applicants who have the right abilities. Thus, 75% of the jobs on the platform had skills which the ideal candidate should have had.

BestJobs specialists advise the applicants to keep their CV updated including with soft and hard skills, to increase their chance to be recommended by the platform to employers and thus, to be contacted for the new job.
