That’s bizarre: emergency landing after man tries to open plane door

Sursa: Twitter

A Japanese flight heading towards Texas made an emergency landing after a male passenger pulled at the door, trying to open it.

It was diverted to Seattle.

The passenger, apparently had a fit as a result of a medical crisis, which led him to jump at the doors.

He was then restrained by both crew and passengers.

Once back on land, the man in question was hospitalized.

But apparently a second person was also removed for “unruly behavior”.

Law enforcement intervened.

This is the latest in a string of similar incidents in which people tried to open plane door, reports the BBC — one happened on a flight from Bali in April, while the first happened in the US in the November of last year.

During the November incident, the person trying to open the door was actually tied up by the other passengers with duct tape.

Even though plane doors aren’t supposed to open, consequences are not favourable if it does happen – in 2023, nine passengers an Asiana Airlines flight were hospitalized for breathing difficulties after a man managed to rip open the emergency exit door in South Korea.
