US to start guiding ships through Strait of Hormuz

The US military will start guiding stranded ships through the Strait Of Hormuz, the oil trade chokepoint/

A top Iranian official Ebrahim Azizi warned the plan is a violation of the ceasefire, CNN reported.

Two ships in the strait were attacked in the past 24 hours, according to a maritime agency. All crew were reported safe.

US President Donald Trump said his representatives “are having  very positive discussions”  with Iran. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Tehran is reviewing the US reply to its latest peace proposal.

The US plan to guide ships through the Strait of Hormuz will involve guided-missile destroyers, more than 100 aircraft, multi-domain unmanned platforms and some 15,000 service members, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
