Romania is known for its huge communist-era buildings, the biggest being Nicolae Ceausescu’s behemoth known as the ‘Palace of the People.’
But following trends for downsizing as people become more aware of energy costs and viable loving spaces, the country is now promoting small living spaces.
The Tiny House Festival, the first festival dedicated to tiny homes in Central and Eastern Europe, will take place in Rasnov, central Romania from June 23-25.
It will bring together entrepreneurs, builders, influencers, creative people, and enthusiasts of this architectural movement.
Tudor and Anda Maxim, well-known in the modular home industry, came up with the idea.
The site says the “exciting and unique event” will showcase “he growing interest in minimalist and sustainable living.”
“The festival features a variety of tiny homes, from DIY constructions to professionally built models, all designed to maximize space and minimize environmental impact.”
Visitors are invited to camp on-site or bring a camper and participate in yoga classes and bonfire gatherings to foster “a sense of connection and collaboration among the tiny house community. “
Organizers say they expect at least 20 tiny houses, modular homes, temporary structures or prefabricated houses.
„In addition to the tiny homes themselves, the festival will also have a range of workshops and talks on topics such as renewable energy, composting and off-grid living. There will be also vendors selling eco-friendly products and services, as well as food trucks serving delicious vegan and vegetarian options,” Tudor Maxim said.
There will be present exhibitors, suppliers and partners of the tiny house construction industry, floor heating companies, off-grid solutions providers, insulation suppliers, tent Glamping importers.
There will be also a special section for tiny homes on wheels like converted vans, new food trucks/trailers, new and retro campers for rent or sale.
