An earthquake with a 7.7 magnitude has hit central Myanmar and Bangkok.
The damage was enormous: buildings collapses, including a huge apartment block in Bangkok. Roads broke apart.
Casualties are still being counted.
The earthquake is described as having been “of terrifying intensity”.
The epicentre was around Sagaing, Myanmar.
One big aftershock was already felt in a matter of minutes, and now people are bracing themselves for yet another.
Up to over 70 small aftershocks ensued.
High-rise buildings waved back and forth — a terrifying sight for onlooker, and even more terrifying for those inside the buildings.
The northern city of Chiang Mai was also affected.
