Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested Thursday and is in custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Police say King Charles’s brother is in custody and officers are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.

Photos show vehicles that are believed to be police cars, arriving at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk earlier Thursday.

It comes after Thames Valley Police said they were assessing a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material by the former prince with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

Andrew,  who turns 66 today, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

The former prince’s fall from grace came after his relations with Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most vocal victims of sexual abuse was exposed. She committed suicide last year aged 41.

A photo of an underage Virginia Giuffre Prince Andrew in 2001 marked a pivotal moment in the decline of Andrew’s reputation and credibility, far and wide, as well as within the bosom of the Royal Family itself, which removed him as a public figure.

Andrew gave a disastrous interview defending himself and has always denied allegations against him, although they reached an out-of-court settlement in 2022, the sum of which was not publicly revealed.

Giuffre claimed that the Duke of York sexually abused her three times.
