Duty-free shops closed at Romania’s biggest airport

Passengers at Bucharest’s Henri Coanda Airport hoping to buy a bottle of perfume or fine wine or a last-minute present are likely to be disappointed for the next month after the duty-free shops were temporarily closed down.

For about 30 days, duty-paid and related commercial services at the international Airport will be suspended, after the old contract came to an end.

CNAB and the new partner, Lagardère Travel Retail Romania, are making every effort to shorten the period of unavailability of these services, a statement said.

„This period is necessary to … carry out an inventory, delivery-receipt, etc. but also for the preparation of commercial spaces for operation according to the new rental contract…  with Lagardere Travel Retail Romania.”
