Francis just wants peace this Easter…

Sursa: X

Every year, Pope Francis holds a message for Easter.

He spoke from the balcony of the Vatican in St. Peter’s Square, as he does every year, to crowds of tens of thousands of believers.

This year, the 87-year old pontiff asked for a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to fighting between Russia and Ukraine.

Francis has previously drawn controversy for recent comments in which he encouraged Ukraine to raise the white flag.

On Sunday, Pope Francis was helped into a wheelchair as he greeted cardinals celebrating Easter Mass. He has a series of age-related health complications.

„Peace is never made with arms, but with outstretched hands and open hearts,” he said.

Beyond calling for an immediate Gaza ceasefire, Pope Francis pleaded that humanitarian aid be given way into Gaza and that hostages be freed.
