Formerly in cahoots, president Donald Trump and his government’s brainchild, Elon Musk, have had a big public spat on X that seems irreparable at present.
The premise? Trump made comments on live TV saying that Musk was wrong and conflicted in his criticism of the tax and spending bill.
Musk proceed to call Trump ungrateful for his support, claiming that he wouldn’t have won the presidential election without his support.
In 2024, Musk donated $300 million to Trump’s presidential campaign, making him the biggest republican donor of all, even though he had been critical of Trump in his first term.
Trump responded saying by saying that the American state should budget and “terminate Elon’s subsidies and contracts” – which include Space X and Tesla.
White House aides intended to broker a truce, but Trump said he didn’t want to speak to Musk today.
He did, however, call Musk “the man who has lost his mind”.
That came after Musk claimed on X that Donald Trump is among Jeffrey Epstein’s cronies in his sexual exploits, and that this accounts for the reason why Epstein’s files have not been made public.
Indeed, Musk has never attacked someone more powerful than himself, as Trump is.
