Influencer Andrew Tate who’s facing criminal allegations of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women in Romania, has announced he’s thinking of entering politics in Britain.
In a post on X, the British-American influencer who’s under house arrest near Bucharest shared an ‘ultra serious post” about the possibility of him entering UK politics and asked his 10.5M followers:
“Should I enter politics and run for Prime Minister of the UK?” and created a poll with two options to vote, either “YES. SAVE BRITAN [sic]” or “No.”
Britain does not hold a direct election for the Prime Minister, but operates on the principles of representative democracy and constitutional monarchy. The Prime Minister is typically the leader of the political party that wins a majority of seats in the House of Commons.
Tate and his brother Tristan is on trial in Romania on allegations of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women.
After these legal proceedings have finished, the brothers are set to be extradited to the UK where they face additional allegations of rape and human trafficking. They both deny all the allegations.
Additionally, a UK court ruled last month that British police can seize nearly £2.7M from the Tate brothers over unpaid tax, Reuters reported.
Despite this, Tate announced on X on Sunday (January 5), where he shared a poll, which got 1.7m views and over 206,000 users voted in the poll. Some 69.2% agreed and 30.8% disagreed.
However, social media users quickly pointed out an embarrassing mistake, as Tate misspelled “Britain”…
