Michelle Obama, former US first lady to visit Romania for biz & tech event

Michelle Obama will take part in a business and technology event Impact Bucharest in September, organizers said Wednesday.

The former US first lady will participate in a discussion at the second edition of Impact Bucharest on September 17-18.

The event brings together leaders and innovators from business, public administration, technology and media.

“Michelle Obama is a bestselling author and podcaster, TV show producer, and inspirational speaker who motivates people around the world,” organizers said.

Impact Bucharest organizers say that the success of last year’s edition, attended by some 2,000 participants from Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Albania.

Participants from Poland and elsewhere are expected at the 2025 edition.

In addition to experts and business leaders, there will be public sector representatives from Romania and South-Eastern Europe – including mayors, government officials and employees of European agencies.

Michella Obama served as the first lady from 2009 to 2017, as the wife of Barack Obama the 44th president and the first black president of the US.
