Ownership change for Romania’s Antena TV

The Romanian National Audiovisual Council (CNA) has approved an ownership change at Antena TV Group, one of the country’s leading broadcasters.

The development will see the transfer of shares of Dan Voiculescu’s daughters to a legal entity called Antena Holding SA, which now owns just over 83% of the group’s shares, Pagina de Media reported.

It adds that the previous shareholding situation included sisters  Camelia and Corina Voiculescu who hold direct shares in Antena TV Group SA in the proportion of 43.98% and 39.22%, respectively. The two daughters of Dan Voiculescu own the company that will control the group, Antena Holding SA. Camelia, 51% and Corina 49%.

Antena TV Group SA holds the licences for Antena 1, Antena Stars, Happy Channel, Zu TV, Antena International and the approval for the on-demand audiovisual media service Antena Play.

Antena 3, which is operated separately through the company Antena 3 SA, has also changed its shareholding by receiving Antena Holding SA which, however, will hold a minority stake of only 10%. It has been run by Camelia, whose shares have been reduced from 40.6% to 30.6%.
