Results from the partial recount remain the same in Romania’s presidential election, officials say.
Hard-right candidate Calin Georgescu is in first place, followed by centrist mayor, Elena Lasconi. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu who won less than 3,000 votes than Mrs. Lasconi holds the third place.
The head of Central Electoral Authority, Toni Grebla, said that the order of candidates hadn’t changed with 3-4 counties still not counted.
Timisoara Mayor Dominic Fritz said that the distance between Mrs Lasconi and Mr Ciolacu had grown by 1,700 votes with 80% of the votes counted.
The Timisoara mayor reported what he said was fraud in several areas_ instances where hundreds of votes had allegedly been handed to Mr. Ciolacu, the leader of the Social Democratic Party.
