Romanian authorities say 277 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last day, bringing the total of infections to 11,616.
The Strategic Communication Group said Tuesday that 650 people had died from the virus since the outbreak began in March.
Some 243 patients are currently being treated for the virus in intensive care.
More than 150,000 tests have been carried out, of which 6,475 were conducted in the past 24 hours.
There are 3,404 people who have recovered from the virus, 263 more than on Monday.
Sine 11,630 people are in institutionalized quarantine, and more than 22,400 are in self-isolation at home.
