Romanian Film Festival held in Washington, D.C for 3 weeks

One of the biggest events of its kind in North America, the Romanian Film Festival (RFF) in Washington, DC, will begin on June 3, 2022, at the historic Miracle Theater under the motto Reinventing the Wheel — Romanian New Cinema.

Curated by Romanian film critic Mihai Fulger, the program runs for three consecutive weeks and features 12 of the most original and thought-provoking works produced during the pandemic.

Over 13 Romanian directors, actors, producers and film critics will introduce their films across the Atlantic and meet American film lovers.

Dedicated to the 25th anniversary since the launch of the Strategic Partnership for the 21st Century between Romania and the United States of America, RFF 2022 is organized by the Embassy of Romania to the United StatesRomanian Cultural Institute in New YorkThe Miracle Theatre in Washington, DC and with the support of Transylvania Bank (Banca Transilvania).

For those interested in Romanian cinema who are based in the United Kingdom, the event coincides with the UK airing of a new documentary about King Michael of Romania, with the occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee. „The Last King Behind the Iron Curtain” aired this Friday on the History Sky channel in the UK as part of the Jubilee Celebrations.
