The Social Democratic Party which quit government last week over austerity cuts has pulled out all party members from government jobs.
It said that all its secretaries of state, undersecretaries of state, prefects or sub-prefects resigned Wednesday following the party’s decision to bring a no-confidence vote to dismiss Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan who has cut public spending. .
“PSD announces…. the resignations of all the Social Democratic representatives in the government structures constitute an act of dignity, in full consistency with the PSD’s steps at the parliamentary level,” a press statement said.
It added that “stopping the decline of the national economy is at this moment a much more important stake than maintaining some functions or portfolios in a non-functional Government.”
