A Tarom flight from Bucharest to Chișinău route was forced to return to Henri Coandă Airport after it was struck by lightning on Sunday night.
This occurred as a result of weather conditions. The immediately communicated the situation and was able to turn back and land.
It seems that the lightning bolt hit shortly after take-off.
There were 53 passengers on board.
Nobody on board was affected in any way, beyond the three hour delay this produced. Tarom attributed this to its protective mechanical structures, which are up to date.
