The USA has threatened to abandon its efforts to mediate peace between Russia and Ukraine unless it comes about in the next days, says US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
“We’re not going to continue with this endeavour for weeks and months on end”, says Rubio.
But Donald Trump swore to stop the fighting within the beginning of his second presidency.
At first glance, it feels odd that this comment comes after Ukraine reportedly signed a memorandum of intent on the minerals deal envisioned by Trump, in which an investment fund is set up for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
No wavering, threatens the US.
This comes after a sour meeting broadcast live between Presidents Trump and Zelensky and American VP Vance.
Ukraine must sign by April 26.
Meanwhile, Russian strikes rage on, as Ukrainian officials push for details that would guarantee Ukraine maximum security and the best deal possible.
