From September 1 on, patients will be able to report an abuse of power, in which Romanian doctors usher them to their own private clinics upon booking appointments at state clinics.
An official form will be available on the Health Ministry’s website for this.
This comes after the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, called this tendency “unacceptable and unworthy”.
He posted on Facebook expressing his disapproval as regards the fact that patiences have been told that “there are no slots left”, “the CT/MRI machine is broke”, “the laboratory is closed”, or “conditions are improper”.
Lies and pretexts are completely unacceptable and violate the Hippocratic oath. However, as far the last point goes ,it is true that conditions indeed are improper in state hospitals, where, in contrast to individual doctors, the state has refused to pay for essential upgrades, and things remain obsolete.
