Signed contracts with Russia’s Defense Ministry has fallen to its lowest level in two years, says Russia’s federal budget.
Approximately 37,900 people signed military contracts with Russia in the second half of 2025.
That’s 2.5 times fewer than the 92,800 reported in the second half of 2024.
In the first six months of 2025, 127,500 contracts were signed, while 210,000 soldiers officially entered then. But that’s a discrepancy, said to be attributed to the practice of one-time payment contracts.
Regardless, the number is waning.
One million Russian soldiers have been wounded since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
