Young Talents Project: support for artists up to 24

The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation is launching a nationwide selection of scholarship recipients who will be part of the Young Talents project, 2024 edition.

Pupils or students studying classical music or visual arts at vocational education institutions in Romania, aged between 14 and 24, who come from low-income families, can apply until 30 November for the Young Talents Scholarship, in what it is the 15th edition of the project.

Over the course of a calendar year, selected young artists in the area of classical music or visual arts will be supported through scholarships for artistic development, intergenerational mentoring programmes and promotional activities.

According to the source, the individual scholarships, worth up to 2,000 euros, allow young people to purchase the necessary materials for their studies, musical accessories and instruments, utensils and materials for making art works, to participate in competitions or specialisation courses, to perform in artistic events.

Intergenerational mentoring sessions give scholarship recipients the chance to interact with personalities from the artistic and cultural world who are close to them and guide them both professionally and personally.

Also, masterclass sessions and creative workshops, held under the careful guidance and advice of established personalities of cultural life, support them in perfecting their skills.

„The Young Talent Programme offers much more than material support. Selected young artists have the opportunity to further educate themselves, to work with each other, to relate to the artistic environment, to pay attention to context. Mentoring points them towards bright, supportive areas and towards performance”, said Verona Maier, pro-rector of the National University of Music in Bucharest, mentor and member of the selection jury of the Young Talents project.
