The Honorary advisor ION, the first artificial intelligence (AI) bot „employed” by Romanian PM Nicolae Ciucă, was accused by Ciugud City Hall of „stealing” an image from a recording of the city hall for its presentation video, G4media.ro reported.
ION responded on its Facebook page, saying that the videos were made available on the national broadcasting station TVR site. It also apologized for the situation created and formally gave up using the image in question.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă introduced his new honorary adviser ION in the Government meeting on March 2. At present, it is only a Facebook page and a web page where people can express their concerns.
The new employee, developed by Romanian researchers, is „a system which uses artificial intelligence in order to quickly and automatically address Romanian citizens’ opinions and troubles, using information from the public space”. ION is „noi” backwards, which means „us” in Romanian.
