An apartment in Brasov is now more expensive than in Bucharest?

The Transylvanian, central city of Brasov has surpassed Romania’s capital of Bucharest in terms of real estate prices.

Up to now, only Cluj-Napoca („Romania’s Silicon Valley” and IT hub) was the only city that surpassed the metropolis.

Although apartment prices have not seen major increases recently, developers, as well as owners of old apartments, have increased prices by a significant 20% in the last two years in Brasov, Economica.net reported.

That means that Brasov now ranks second in the list, with a sale price of EUR 1,647/usable square meter, reports Romania Insider.

There are, however, areas where the average goes up to around EUR 1,800/usable square meter.

Apartments in Bucharest, on the other hand, are sold for EUR 1,581/usable square meter, making them only 5% more expensive than they were in 2021.
