Medlife Group is the biggest network of private-sector medical services in Romania. It has now introduced EarlyCDT testing at its laboratories throughout Romani.

EARCDT is an immunological blood test probed through the ELISA method, which enables early screening for risk of pulmonary cancer by up to four years before imagistic lesions may be identified.

Both those with and without risk factors can be tested.

Results are released within 15 fifteen working days.

EarlyCDT is a non-invasive screening test that identifies specific autoantibodies produced by the body as an immune response to the presence of tumorous cells. This test covers all major forms of lung cancer, including non-small cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma.

It should give doctors the chance to intervene as early as possible, says Medlife.

It is especially recommended for people with risk factors — smokers, people with occupational exposure to various substances that may favor the occurrence of lung cancer or those with a family history.

However, it’s important to note that there is an alarming increase in the incidence of lung cancer even among non-smokers.

Clinical studies demonstrated that use of the EarlyCDT test led to a 36% reduction in diagnoses in advanced stages (III and IV).

It costs 1075 lei (approx.212 euros).
