Almost 80% of Romanians say they will take a vacation in Europe this summer, according to a study carried out by an online operator, Agerpres.ro reported.
According to Vola.ro, 50% of respondents have already chosen their destination for the summer holidays, but haven’t bought plane tickets yet, the study published Wednesday showed.
Some 78% of them say they will somewhere in Europe, with 9.1% will opting for outside the continent (Dubai, Israel, etc.). Another 7.3% will holiday in Romania, while 5.6% will go somewhere more exotic (Zanzibar, Mexico, etc.).
About half said they’d pay between 100 and 300 euros on an air ticket, with 36% wanting budget prices of less than 100 euros. Plane remains the preferred means of transport for 88.7% of respondent).
As for when, almost two-thirds say they will have a holiday in the next 3 months, 28.2% will go on vacation in the next 3-6 months, and 7% will delay their vacations for 6-9 months. Some 30.6% of respondents say they haven’t planned anything yet.
Separately, 55.9% will take city breaks for this summer, while 40.9% of those surveyed would like to have an extended holiday.
The criteria underlying the choice of the holiday destination are the following: to find reasonable air tickets (44.6%), to go to a destination they haven’t been (38.4%), to arrive quickly on direct flight (16.4%).
Some 53% of participants said they’d go on holiday with their partner, 48.9% will travel with their family, 28% with friends, and 10.8% will vacation solo.
