The National Meteorological Agency said there would be heavy rain and high winds of up to 90 km/h and blizzards at high altitudes until Thursday. Snow  dumps up to 30 cm can be expected, more than usual for early October.

A red alert was given for heavy rain for the counties of Constanta, Calarasi and Ialomita where up to 110 to 120 liters per square meter can be expected.

Rainstorms

From Monday morning to Thursday morning, there will be rainstorms in the south, east and center of Romania with 25 to 50 liters/sqm in sone regions, and between 70 and 100 liters per square meter elsewhere including the capital, Bucharest.

Blizzards will hit the southern Carpathians, at altitudes above 1700 meters on Tuesday and Wednesday, while wind will intensify in the south, in the east, in the mountains and in restricted areas with gusts between 45 to 70 km/h.

Temperatures will be lower for this time of year, with maximum temperatures between 12 and 18 degrees and minimum between 3 and 14 degrees.
