Germany’s Diehl Controls to build 50-million euro plant in Romania

German company Diehl Controls is to invest at least 50 million euros in a electronic parts construction unit in the central city of Brasov.

The plant will employ up to 600 people and investment will total between 50 and 60 million euros over time, Bună Ziua Brașov reported.

The company’s financial director Josef Fellner said it picked Brasov out of a list of 20 cities  across Europe.

Brasov was chosen for its good infrastructure and  qualified workforce, he said. The company will start producing in 2024.

For the first year, turnover is estimated at 14-35 million euros which will raise to 130-160 million euros by 2027, the company said.

The Nürnberg headquartered company produces  electronic assemblies, system components, and drive inverters for the household appliance industry as well as for technology-related markets, according to its website.

It will have a partnership with CTP, a logistics company which owns the land where the plant is being built.

Some additonal 100-150 jobs will be created in development and research.
