From tradition to culture and hospitality in Transylvania, SoNoRo Musikland promotes classical music concerts in fortified churches and in traditional costumes and local inns.
The mostly free festival is a tribute to the 800-year old history of the Saxon community in the Transylvanian Highlands.
The 2024 and sixth edition of the SoNoRo Musikland Festival will take place between July 25 and August 4 in Brașov, Sighișoara and in the Transylvanian Highlands: Cristian, Râșnov, Cincu, Meșendorf, Criț and Viscri.
In the city of Brașov, events will be held at:
Filarmonica Brașov in Piața Sfântul Ioan, an urban space reserved for the Tâmpei Valley’s cultural events in the open air.
- The Christian Cultural Chapel from 1223
- The Urban Civilization Museum in Brașov (this new branch of the Brașov Museum of Ethnography serves as an important monument of civil architecture)
- The George Barițiu Jewish Library
- The Evangelical Church of St. Bartholomew
- The Carpenters’ Guild
- Das Fort Boutique in Râșnov
Other venues include the Festival Hall in Meșendorf, the fortified parish in Meșendorf and the Critz Cross in Criț.
New venues will include the King’s House in Viscri and the “Fuga Lolelor. Museum in Progress” in Cincu, but also a series of other special venues:
