Poland’s largest bank, the PKO Bank Polski, has opened a branch in Romania.
The “PKO Bank Polski S.A. Warsaw, Bucharest Branch”, PKO Bank Polski opened on January 1 with the aim of supporting Polish companies operating in Romania. It also intends to offer opportunities of financing local companies in the region soon.
The new branch aims to become the gateway for Romanian companies wishing to enter the Polish market. The establishment of the branch in Bucharest comes after PKO Bank Polski opened three other foreign corporate branches in Frankfurt, Prague and Bratislava.
The move is part of its foreign expansion strategy for 2025-2027, with plans to expand to eight other European countries.
