North Korea confirms its involvement in Russia-Ukraine war

North Korea has confirmed that it sent troops to support Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.

This is the first time this admission takes place.

On its state news, agency Pyongyang’s military boasted that it helped Russian forces “completely liberate” the Kursk border region, as per Kim Jong Un’s orders.

Russia and North Korea appear to have gone public with their relationship since Russian Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov also applauded the “heroism” of North Korean troops a few days ago.

In the same speech, Gerasimov boasted that Russia is fully controlling Ukraine’s Kursk region.

Ukraine denies this.

Western intelligence has communicated through BBC that at least 1,000 of the 11,000 troops sent from North Korea were exterminated over three months — in the context in which North Korean soldiers do not understand Russian orders.

North Korea has said that it intends to continue supporting Russia.

The US says that North Korea must pay.
